Current background
As A Real 9/11 Commission and Investigation gathers evidence and begins looking at facts, there are current events that not only support this commission's efforts, but also point in directions it needs to go. The following articles make this clear: "They consciously failed to act" "The 9/11 Commission Report defrauds the nation" In October 2004 Harpers Magazine, the article Whitewash As Public Service, How the 9/11 Commission report defrauds the nation by Benjamin DeMott states on pages 37 and 38 "Numberless officials had appeared before the whole body of the Commission or before its aids, had been sworn in, and had thereafter provided circumstantial detail about their attempts - beginning with pre-election campaign briefings in September, through November 2000, and continuing straight through the subsequent months - to educate Bush as candidate, then as President Elect, then as commander in chief, about the threat from terrorists on our shores." "Nevertheless the chief executive, seated before the Commission, declared: Nobody Told Me. "The Presidents claim was untrue. It was a lie…" See full article: www.areal911commission.com, "Whitewash as Public Service" ".. the United States has evidence of bin Laden's role in the terrorist acts" September 23, 2001, statement by Condoleezza Rice, then National Security advisor, "..the United States has evidence of bin Laden's role in terrorist acts that it will present in due time." "America and the World are still waiting", Dave von Kleist, "911 in Plane Site", March 2005 Is Al Qaeda Just a Bush Boogeyman? Robert Scheer Is it conceivable that Al Qaeda, as defined by President Bush as the center of a vast and well-organized international terrorist conspiracy, does not exist? To even raise the question amid all the officially inspired hysteria is heretical, especially in the context of the U.S. media's supine acceptance of administration claims relating to national security. Yet a brilliant new BBC film produced by one of Britain's leading documentary filmmakers systematically challenges this and many other accepted articles of faith in the so-called war on terror. A brilliant new BBC film produced by one of Britain's leading documentary filmmakers systematically challenges this and many other accepted articles of faith in the so-called war on terror. "The Power of Nightmares: The Rise of the Politics of Fear," a three-hour historical film by Adam Curtis recently aired by the British Broadcasting Corp., argues coherently that much of what we have been told about the threat of international terrorism "is a fantasy that has been exaggerated and distorted by politicians. It is a dark illusion that has spread unquestioned through governments around the world, the security services and the international media." A few of the many questions the program poses along the way:
" making a powerful case that the Bush administration, led by a tight-knit cabal of Machiavellian neoconservatives, has seized upon the false image of a unified international terrorist threat to replace the expired Soviet empire in order to push a political agenda." The fact is, despite the efforts of several government commissions and a vast army of investigators, we still do not have a credible narrative of a "war on terror" that is being fought in the shadows. " neither the 9/11 commission nor any court of law has been able to directly take evidence from the key post-9/11 terror detainees held by the United States. Everything we know comes from two sides that both have a great stake in exaggerating the threat posed by Al Qaeda: the terrorists themselves and the military and intelligence agencies that have a vested interest in maintaining the facade of an overwhelmingly dangerous enemy." http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-scheer11jan11,0,5399604.story Six Men Identified by FBI as Dead Hijackers are ALIVE SYED ADEEB WASHINGTON, DC, USA, 27 September 2001 (InfoTimes): U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft and U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Robert Mueller on Thursday released 19 photographs and a new list of 19 individuals believed to be the hijackers of the four U.S. airliners that crashed into the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Virginia and in Stony Creek Township, Pennsylvania, USA, on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. However, at least six men identified by the FBI as dead hijackers are still alive and the FBI list of 19 hijackers has become doubtful. http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/InfoTimes/message/1093 Request for Hearings by House Members on two important 9/11 Issues By Rep. Henry A. Waxman; Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney The Honorable Tom Davis Chairman Dear Mr. Chairman: We are writing to request that our Committee hold hearings to investigate two extremely serious questions raised by an article that appeared in this morning's New York Times. The first question is whether the Administration misused the classification process to withhold, for political reasons, official 9/11 Commission staff findings detailing how federal aviation officials received multiple intelligence reports warning of airline hijackings and suicide attacks before September 11. The second question relates to the veracity of statements, briefings, and testimony by then-National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice regarding this issue. Background This morning's New York Times reported that in "the months before the Sept. 11 attacks, federal aviation officials reviewed dozens of intelligence reports that warned about Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, some of which specifically discussed airline hijackings and suicide operations." [1] The article explained that the Federal Aviation Administration "received 52 intelligence reports" that mentioned Osama bin Laden or Al Qaeda prior to September 11, 2001, and that the FAA warned airports that if "the intent of the hijacker is not to exchange hostages for prisoners, but to commit suicide in a spectacular explosion, a domestic hijacking would probably be preferable." This information was included in a staff report by the 9/11 Commission dated August 26, 2004. The 9/11 Commission report found that there was "intelligence that indicated a real and growing threat leading up to 9/11," but that this intelligence "did not stimulate significant increases in security procedures." Although the report did not find that the government had advance information about the specific September 11, 2001, attacks, it reported that the FAA took various measures to warn airport security officials about "the possibility of a suicide hijacking." The Complaint demands that the AG open a criminal inquiry and/or grand jury investigation into the many still unsolved crimes of September 11, 2001 over which he has jurisdiction."
